This is what I know

It appears that I have been away from the blogging world for one month now. I have no reason as to why,  I haven't really accomplished anything new.

What have I been doing?

I guess I've eaten a lot, had one too many cups of coffee...

But what I do know is I've spent a crap load of money at the movies!

In the last month I have seen :

Captain America

Friends With Benefits

Little White Lies

Sleeping Beauty

Beginners

Green Lantern

Love Crime

The Illusionist

Bad Teacher

Beautiful Lies

The Help

So all in all over the last month I have spent about 24 hours and $170* at the movies.

The best of this bunch was Little White Lies followed by Friends with Benefits.

The worst was Sleeping Beauty. This was so so bad.

I'm still hanging out to see Cowboys and Aliens, maybe that should be next.

*This does not include choc tops, factor that in and I spent thousands.

This must be the place.

This Must Be The Place is a new film starring the ever wonderful Sean Penn. It looks bizarre but I can't wait to see it!

The music is pretty great too!

so long dear friend

The boy who lived is gone.

We spent many years together. He took me on adventures and introduced me to his friends. I shall always remember the time we shared, whether it be the trips to Diagon Alley or the laughs we had over a hot butterbeer.

Ah the fun we had hiding from Filch and Mrs Noris during late night shenanigans, lucky we had that invisibility cloak and Marauder's Map sure helped too!

Harry Potter and the deathly hallows - Part Two was always going to be a tricky one. How do you say goodbye to a friend, one you have grown up with and invested so much in? Will anything live up to the standards of your imagination?

When I read the final book for the first time, I remember being satisfied yet ever so slightly disappointed and unfortunately I experienced a similar feeling with Part Two.  Don't get me wrong the film was great, as a potter nut it didn't disappoint, however there was just something... missing!

I can't put my finger on it...

Actually I can, it was that bloody epilogue.

Not only was it completely unnecessary for anyone with an imagination but I am now seriously concerned about what we will be wearing in 19 years time. It appears that the fashion world is about to be highly influenced by mid nineties fashion. Fantastic.

Errrr. I think I need to see it again before I make my final assessments.

I think Neville's beautiful face would be reason enough.

Oh yeah!!

You May Drive Me Anywhere!

After a well received stop at Cannes, Nicolas Winding Refn's new film Drive will soon be arriving in Melbourne. Starring the oh so handsome Ryan Gosling and sometimes infuriating Carey Mulligan I am hoping for great things.

Although it is not scheduled for general release until October, it will be closing the Melbourne International Film Festival on the 6th August! I can't wait!

If only the MIFF closing film tickets weren't so darn expensive...

Sydney, I love you?

Apparently it has been announced that they are putting together Sydney, I Love You. I say apparently because I sincerely hope this isn't true.

I loved Paris, Je t'aime, I watched New York, I love you but Sydney... really?

Paris worked so well because it was an original idea compiled in a uncomplicated way, New York did not work as they complicated the formula and added some of that 'hollywood' poison. I can only imagine that Sydney will be inundated with Erinsborough and Summer Bay residents, and well that speaks for itself.

John Polson announced that he will produce the film alongside Gary Hamilton. The film is slated for a early 2012 production.

This section of Paris je t'aime is the bees knees and all other films simply fall short...

This one makes me smile too...

With all that said, Sydney, I love you may very well be utterly enjoyable. Australia definitely has the talent and Sydney's ok I guess.

It's just I can't help but think, I love Melbourne more.
